Today marks the 4th birthday of Job-a-matic, Simply Hired’s hosted job board service. This past year, we’ve been busy focusing our efforts in two main areas: international and customer support.
International
Over the course of the past year, we launched job sites in five additional countries: Argentina, Austria, Russia, South Africa and South Korea. Now, the Job Search XML API is available for all 22 countries where Simply Hired has a presence. To access the XML API, navigate to the ‘Advanced’ tab of your Job-a-matic account. Users beware: The XML API is not for the non-technical.
In addition, you can now add multi-language job search widgets and search boxes to your site, which are available for all 22 countries where Simply Hired has a presence and localized for the languages spoken in each country. To add a job widget or search box to your site, navigate to the Simply Hired site for the country that you would like to include job listings (in our example we’ll use Simply Hired Canada). Next, click the ‘Publishers’ link, and you’ll find the ‘Job Search Box’ or ‘Job Search Widget’ links in the left-side navigation. Please note that there is no monetization for clicks on non-U.S jobs through the XML API, job search box or job search widget at this time.
Customer Service
This year, we also put a lot of focus on our customer service efforts. In March 2010 we initially created a support center for Simply Hired publishers that has now evolved into the new Publisher Support Center launched this past December at support.jobamatic.com (think of it as 2G Simply Hired/Job-a-matic Support). Here you’ll find the answers to all of your publisher questions, or you can opt to join in the conversation in our Publisher Community Support Forum. Best yet-- it’s searchable, so you can enter keywords and all the relevant help topics will appear.
We’ve got more Job-a-matic updates up our sleeves in the upcoming year, so stay tuned!
