As you know, you can be a Simply Hired publisher anywhere in the world—not just the United States. In order to be paid, you will need to fill out a tax form; however, a publisher outside the U.S. should fill out a different form than a publisher in the U.S.
When setting up your Job-a-matic account, you’ll need to complete both forms under the Payment Settings tab: your tax information and method of payment. For your tax info, we direct you to a W-9 form, although, if you’re a publisher outside the U.S., you’ll need to fill out an IRS Form W-8BEN, not the W-9. We admit it’s a little confusing.
In a previous post, we instruct publishers outside the U.S. to fax their completed W-8BEN form along with their Job-a-matic URL (e.g. yourname.jobamatic.com) to 001-650-254-9001, and this is still absolutely acceptable. For those of you without a fax machine, never fear: in addition (and since we’ve made it out of the 80’s), you also have the option to email your completed W-8BEN and Job-a-matic URL to support@simplyhired.com.
Don’t forget to include your Job-a-matic URL in your fax or email when you submit your W-8BEN, otherwise, we will not be able to update your tax information for your account. Not sure what your Job-a-matic URL is? Look in the Name & Pricing section in the Configuration tab, under Hostname.
Also, keep in mind that publishers outside the U.S. have to choose PayPal as their method of payment. If you don’t have an account already, signing up is simple.
And publishers around the world rejoiced!
This is good news for international websites. I would love if you could give U.S. websites international job boards. I have a U.S. website - http://www.workatnight.com A lot of visitors come from Australia and the UK and I would love to offer them job listings for their countries.
