As a Simply Hired publisher, you already know that in order to start earning the big bucks with our products, you need traffic to your site. More traffic = more clicks = more cash for you! But how do you increase the volume of your traffic?
There are three ways to build traffic to your site: SEO, SEM (paid traffic), and direct/organic traffic. SEO (search engine optimization) involves optimizing your site content to result in a better ranking on search engines, so that people can more easily find your website online. To place higher in search results for keywords that matter to you, you'll need to optimize your site and content for search engines. We've put together some quick SEO (search engine optimization) tips to get you started.
Name your job board
For what searches would you like your job board to show up for? Medical Jobs in Austin? Social Media Jobs? This is what you should name your job site. You can change your job site name in your account in Configuration > Name & Pricing.
One way to potentially rank higher in results is to change your board name to a less competitive keyword. You can use the Google AdWords keyword tool to research other keywords related to your job board content that has less competition. By default, you have a higher probability to rank better in less competitive searches. For example, if your Job-a-matic board contains interaction design jobs, there’s more potential to rank higher if you name your board "UX Design Jobs" (which is closely related keyword phrase but less competitive than "Interaction Design Jobs").
Link to your job site
If you have another site, link over to your Job-a-matic site. Not only does this give a way for your traffic to easily find your job board, but it creates internal linking within your site pages, which search engines look for when determining page raking.
Content, content, content
Content is King in the world of SEO. If you have a site already that links to your job board, make sure you have good and regular content. Google considers quality over quantity for content when determining page rank. Content should be unique and particularly valuable if it is relevant to your audience. Updating your content regularly tells search engines that your site is active, so it will appear higher in results.
